Laser Tattoo Removal

Quietly restoring clarity

A fresh beginning, thoughtfully considered

Whether it’s a small tattoo that no longer feels like you, or pigment from previous work you’re ready to leave behind, our Laser Tattoo Removal service offers a calm, precise route back to clarity. At Cambridge Brow Sanctuary, we specialise in a gentle, skin-respecting approach to Tattoo Removal — always tailored, always led by care.

Our approach is calm, precise and tailored. Every plan is guided by your skin, your history and your goals.

Your Personalised Removal Journey

Laser removal should be respectful of the skin and never rushed. Each plan is customised based on colour, depth, age and placement plus how your skin responds.

Consultation and patch test

Before any treatment takes place a consultation and patch test is required at least 48 hours in advance. This allows us to review your medical history, assess suitability and set safe laser settings.

It is also your time to ask questions so you feel informed and confident.

Sessions and spacing

Laser Tattoo Removal is a gradual process. Most clients need multiple sessions with a minimum of 8 to 12 weeks between treatments. This gives the skin time to settle and gives your body time to clear broken down pigment.

Cosmetic tattoos and smaller areas often need fewer sessions. Larger or heavily saturated tattoos may take longer. If your goal is fading rather than full removal fewer sessions are usually needed.

Comfort and Care

Laser treatment can feel warm and sharp. Many people compare it to a rubber band snap on the skin. Sensation varies by area and sensitivity.

Sessions are usually quick, especially for smaller areas. We use cooling support before, during and after treatment and we work at a pace that feels manageable.

  • A calm private setting

  • Cooling support throughout

  • Settings guided by your patch test response

  • Clear advice at every stage

Aftercare & Ongoing Support

The days after treatment are where results are protected. Mild redness, swelling and tenderness can happen. Some clients experience blistering or scabbing. Surface healing often settles in 5 to 14 days but deeper healing can take 6 to 8 weeks or longer.

You will receive clear aftercare guidance so you know what to do and what to avoid.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes — once enough pigment has been reduced and your skin has fully healed. As a guide, allow a minimum of 12 weeks after your last removal session before new cosmetic tattooing.

  • It can be uncomfortable, but it’s usually very quick. Most clients compare the sensation to a rubber band snap, with a warm, prickly feeling. We cool the skin throughout and can pause if you need breaks.

  • Most clients describe quick sharp pulses with warmth. Many compare it to a rubber band snap. The feeling varies by area and the amount of pigment but treatments are usually fast.

  • The laser targets pigment in the skin and breaks it into smaller particles. Over time your body clears these particles naturally which is why removal happens gradually.

  • In many cases a tattoo can be removed fully or close to fully but it cannot be guaranteed. Results depend on colour, depth, age and how your body responds.

  • It depends on the ink colour, depth, age and saturation of your tattoo, as well as your skin type and immune response. Some clients notice a significant change after one session, while others may need multiple sessions for the desired result. Your consultation will provide a personalised estimate.

  • A minimum of 8 weeks is required between sessions to allow the skin to heal and pigment to be cleared naturally. In some cases — particularly sensitive or mature skin — we may recommend waiting longer

  • There is no strong clinical evidence that laser tattoo removal directly causes cancer. If you have medical concerns we recommend speaking with your GP and we will assess suitability at consultation.

  • You may experience redness, swelling, tenderness, and sometimes blistering or scabbing. Most surface healing settles within 5–14 days, but deeper healing continues for 6–8+ weeks. We recommend planning around important social events.

  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning products on the area before treatment, follow your practitioner’s skincare guidance, arrive with clean skin, and avoid alcohol beforehand. Your consultation will provide a clear, personalised preparation plan.

  • Absolutely. Many clients choose Laser Tattoo Removal to soften an existing tattoo so it can be redesigned or covered. Fading typically requires fewer sessions than complete removal.

  • Laser tattoo removal is generally safe when carried out correctly. Short term effects can include redness, swelling, tenderness, blistering or temporary pigmentation changes.

  • When correct protocols and aftercare are followed, scarring is uncommon. However, any pre-existing scarring from the original tattooing may remain. Avoid picking scabs or blisters to reduce scarring risk.

  • Laser tattoo removal is designed to target pigment in the skin and does not usually reach deep enough to affect nerves. If you have concerns we will discuss them during your consultation.

    • Keep the area dry for 24 hours and avoid soaking for at least 48 hours

    • No anti-inflammatories (e.g., ibuprofen/aspirin) for 7 days unless prescribed

    • Protect from sun: avoid sun/sunbeds for 30 days; use hat/shade initially, then SPF 30+

    • Do not pick scabs or blisters to reduce the risk of scarring

    • Clean hands only and avoid contact with unsterile surfaces
